Departure from Colle de l'Olivier<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The trail starts <strong>near<a href=\"https:\/\/www.auxvallons.fr\/en\/aiguines\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3747\">Aiguines<\/a><\/strong>at <strong>Colle de l'Olivier<\/strong>. Right from the start, the path gradually descends into a <strong>typical Verdon<\/strong> landscape of pine trees and limestone rocks.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">We soon reach a <strong>natural balcony overlooking the Gorges<\/strong>. The view is breathtaking: <strong>the sheer cliffs and turquoise waters of the Verdon<\/strong> below offer an exceptional panorama. <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Passage through Ravin de Mainmorte<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After about <strong>3 km of walking<\/strong>, we reach the <strong>Mainmorte Ravine<\/strong>a steep passage where the trail becomes <strong>more technical<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Here, the terrain is <strong>more rugged<\/strong>, with a few passages over rocky slabs. Sometimes you have to <strong>use your hands<\/strong> to make headway. But the beauty of the landscape is well worth the effort!  <\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\ud83d\udca1 <strong>Tip<\/strong>: walk carefully on aerial sections and avoid hiking after rain (risk of slipping).<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Crossing the Plateau du Suech<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After the ravine, the path climbs slightly and skirts a <strong>semi-arid<\/strong> plateau, the <strong>Plateau du Suech<\/strong>. This section is <strong>more rolling<\/strong>ideal for catching your breath and enjoying the panorama. <\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Here we pass through an <strong>ancient forest of oak and boxwood<\/strong>typical of the Mediterranean climate. In some places, you can still see <strong>the remains of old sheepfolds<\/strong> and dry-stone walls, evidence of ancient pastoral activity. <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Approach to Belv\u00e9d\u00e8re de Mayreste<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After <strong>8 km<\/strong>, we reach one of the finest viewpoints on the route: the <strong>Belvedere at Mayreste<\/strong>. This promontory offers a <strong>spectacular<\/strong> view <strong>of the Gorges<\/strong>With the Verdon winding its way below between the immense limestone cliffs. <\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">It's an <strong>excellent spot to take a break and take photos<\/strong> before starting the last part of the hike.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Descent to Chalet de la Maline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After the lookout point, the trail begins a gradual descent towards the <strong>Chalet de la Maline<\/strong>a well-known refuge for Verdon hikers.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The last few kilometres are <strong>technical<\/strong>, with some steep, rocky sections.
