Nestled at the bottom of the <strong>Grand Canyon du Verdon<\/strong>this trail alternates between <strong>vertiginous cliffs, narrow passages and grandiose landscapes<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\u26a0\ufe0f <strong>Caution!<\/strong> This is a <strong>difficult<\/strong> hike for experienced hikers only. <strong>We advise against returning via the Vidal path<\/strong>as it is dangerous (closed in rainy weather).<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Detailed itinerary of the Sentier de l'Imbut<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Departure : From the Grand Canyon Hotel car park<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The hike starts from the <strong>Hotel du Grand Canyon car park<\/strong>on the <strong>D71<\/strong> road. Right from the start, the trail descends <strong>steeply<\/strong> through a Mediterranean forest. It soon joins the <strong>Styx trail<\/strong>another emblematic Verdon site.  <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Styx: A River Carved in Rock<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After <strong>a 40-minute descent<\/strong>, we arrive at the <strong>Styx du Verdon<\/strong>a place where the river has carved out amazing rock formations.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\ud83d\udd39 <strong>The water is an intense emerald green<\/strong>, and the sheer cliffs add an almost unreal dimension to the landscape.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">It's a <strong>perfect<\/strong> place <strong>for a break<\/strong>But swimming is prohibited due to the strong current.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Descent to l'Imbut: A Technical and Vertiginous Part<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">After the Styx, the trail becomes <strong>more technical and narrow<\/strong>. Some sections are equipped with <strong>cables and metal ramps<\/strong> to facilitate progress. <\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\u26a0\ufe0f <strong>Be careful<\/strong>Some parts of the trail run along precipices, and the ground can be slippery, especially after rain.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>L'Imbut: Impressive mineral chaos<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">The highlight of this hike is the<strong>Imbut<\/strong>an <strong>immense rocky chaos<\/strong> where the Verdon <strong>disappears beneath the boulders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">\ud83d\udc8e <strong>A unique and wild place<\/strong> where you can feel all the power of the river.<\/p>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Many hikers stop here before turning back. <strong>The Vidal trail<\/strong>, which takes you back up by a different route, is <strong>dangerous and not recommended<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Return by the same route<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p data-block-type=\"core\">Once you've enjoyed the<strong>magical atmosphere of the Imbut<\/strong>, it's <strong>best to retrace your steps<\/strong> rather than attempt the ascent via the <strong>Vidal path<\/strong> (very exposed and often closed).<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4.
