The Verdon Regional Nature Park<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Verdon, a tumultuous little river,<\/strong> rises at the foot of the Sestri\u00e8re headwaters, near the Col d'Allos, in the Trois Ev\u00each\u00e9s massif. It has cut a spectacular furrow separating the pre-Alps at Castellane from the pre-Alps at Digne, roughly separating the Alpes de Hautes Provence from the Var department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This deep, narrow fault divides into three parts: the\u00a0pre-gorges<\/strong>\u00a0from Castellane to Pont de Soleils, the\u00a0middle part<\/strong>\u00a0de Pont-soleils at a place called l'imbut in the municipality of La Palud-sur-Verdon and finally\u00a0the canyon<\/strong>\u00a0which goes all the way to the galetas bridge<\/a> in Moustiers-Saintes Marie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some sections of these trails are extremely difficult, and should only be undertaken by trained sportsmen and women with the appropriate equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
